This page is devoted to the work of a non-Zuni carver, Melvin Sandoval, of San Felipe Pueblo. We came across Melvin a few years ago and were struck by sensitivity and abstract quality of his carvings. Melvin lives on the San Felipe pueblo and enjoys carvings that have stylistic individuality. Melvin's production is limited by health and family issue that demand much of his time. Irma, his wife, is Zuni and Melvin and Irma are deeply involved in the life and ceremony of the Zuni Pueblo as well as proceedings at San Felipe.
