Fetish bowls are made to be home to fetish carvings, which are attached on the sides of the bowl, with one or two lodged inside. A circular hole in the side of the bowl allows the fetishes to be fed from time to time. This one was created with crushed turquoise exterior by the grand-daughter of Teddy Weahkie. The fetishes are carved from various stones. Ground cornmeal is
included to feed the fetishes.

are attached on four sides of the bowl, with one or two lodged inside. This one, made with crushed turquoise on the outside and lacking a feed hole,
is unusual for it's small size.

Fetish Bowl - Robert Michael Weahkie - 4.25" x 5.5"
Fetish bowls are rare. They are made to be home to fetish carvings, which
are attached on four sides of the bowl, with one lodged inside. A circular hole
in the side of the bowl allows the fetishes to be fed from time to time.
This one was created by the greast-grandson of Teddy Weahkie. Six fetishes are carved from antler, one is directional and suspended one sinew cords above the bowl opening. One is resident inside the bowl.
Ground cornmeal is included to feed the fetishes.
