Andy Abeita is from the Isleta Pueblo in New Mexico. Andy works with his wife, Roberta (Navajo). He does the carving. She provides the finishing features, including colorful macaw feathers.

Andy Abeita advocates for and promotes genuine Native-American-made crafts. He is a past president of the Indian Arts & Crafts Association (IACA), which protects the integrity of authentic American Indian art steeped in Native American religious ceremonies.
