Carved by Sammy Smith from Picasso marble with turquoise “live eyes” and jet pupils.
ZuniLink acquired this very detailed turtle fetish carving directly from Sammy Smith in 2007. It was at the Gallup, NM store on Rte 66 handling his carvings. He was there in person at the time.
His passing was a great loss for collectors of Navajo carvings.
