Herb Halate is known for the sinuous and fluid appearance of his carvings. Jet is particularly susceptible to this style. This jet mountain lion is a splendid example. Note the single turquoise sliver side-mounted medicine stone RH22 - 1.5" x 4.25"

This jet mountain lion carved by Zuni Herb Halate comes to us in a somewhat larger size. The whiskers carved into the face identify this as a feline. RH25  1.75" x 5"

L Homer, the signer of this elegant Zuni mountain lion, has not been specifically identified by us beyond its Zuni Pueblo origin.
Carved from Petoskey stone, and empowered by a medicine pack of arrowhead-shaped Zuni. A shell with coral and turquoise bits gives extra power to this hunting fetish.
